Implant retained dentures are 'snapped' into place and can be removed when necessary. The denture surface and abutments are easily maintained and cleaned. This option allows your denture to be more stable while chewing than without implants.
The case acceptance and success for patients are dramatically improved compared to the conventional dentures. However, there will still be movement of your lower denture, and sore spots will occur if any food particles, especially seeds, are caught underneath.
The entry level for implant retained dentures consists of at least four implants on the upper ridge and two implants on the lower ridge. As with all removable replacement teeth, you still will need periodic appointments for denture adjustment. Please contact our office for more information on implant retained dentures and see how they could benefit you long term.
