As the cases in Alberta continue to rise our clinic strives to practice stringent protocols to keep our team and patients safe during treatment. It is imperative that we healthcare professionals exercise the utmost care and attention to limit the transmission of COVID-19 and together, these measurements will slow down the spike. We strongly follow the CAD and AHS protocols and guidelines to the tee for the safety of our patients and our team members.
We want to inform our patients we are taking the necessary precautions for your safety:
For our TEAM: We will be monitoring anyone with COVID-19-like symptoms and must self-isolate for 14 days if required.
Effective November 24, masks are mandatory in all indoor workplaces in the Calgary and Edmonton areas.
For our PATIENTS: We will be pre-screening all our patients prior to scheduling appointments to assure the safety of our practitioners and team members to limit the possible transmission of the virus.
If possible, please attend the clinic alone unless you require a caregiver or translator. To assure proper social distancing, minimal number of patients and adequate disinfection/sterilization between patient treatment in the clinic we'll be implementing a Virtual Waiting Room. Patients are to remain outside/in their vehicles and to contact us when they have arrived for the appointment. Once ready we will be assessing patients with a non-contact thermometer for records of fever-like temperatures (>38°C).
It is mandatory for the use of masks when entering the office.
We will provide hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the practice for patient use.
Our team will be wearing the appropriate gloves, gown, eye/facial protection, surgical masks or using professionally fitted N95's when performing aerosol generating procedures.
Prior to beginning treatment patients are to complete a procedural rinse with a 1% hydrogen peroxide for ~30 seconds. The rinse will not eradicate the virus, but reduce the concentration and volume.
Between Patient Appointments: We will be utilizing the proper disinfection/sterilization protocols between appointments on all surfaces in our reception/waiting room & operatories for your safety.
Daily Environmental Hygiene: All finishes, highly touched and clinical contact surfaces in the practice environment will be cleaned and disinfected on an hourly, if not daily basis.
Our COVID-19 protocols will reshape the provision of care to assure the safety of our patients and team. Again, we appreciate your trust in our office and want to assure a safe and optimal experience within our environment from start to finish. Whilst some things may be different, our goals to provide exceptional dental treatment remains the same. We look forward to seeing you in our practice soon!
